Reunion with VHS players, iPods and floppies: Digitec launches retro campaign

To mark its 20th anniversary, Digitec puts technology products in the spotlight. It shows how much has changed in less than 20 years. Anyone who has old equipment can take part - and win.

DigitecTo mark its 20th anniversary, Digitec is launching a retro OOH campaign. Three products from each product category are depicted chronologically in such a way that a product development over time is recognizable. The Swiss online retailer is focusing on typical Digitec products such as RAM, monitors, PCs and graphics cards. With popular retro products such as the Nokia 6111, CD players or iPods, digitec celebrates feelings of nostalgia. A total of 14 poster designs can be admired on backlit and wet posters, online banners, advertisements, and hanging boxes in German- and French-speaking Switzerland until October 10, 2021.

"With the retro campaign we show the passion of us and our community for technology," says Flurin Spring, Creative Director. He adds, "When choosing the devices for the posters and the banners, some of us are also a little scared because you realize how old you've become."

Because Digitec also became what it is today with the many thousands of members of its community, anyone can participate: The search is on for vintage technology that users still have at home, especially parts that are ten years old or even older. Digitec invites you to send photos of vintage technology by e-mail to redaktion@digitecgalaxus.ch, subject: "Digitec Retro". Three people will be randomly selected from all those who take part to receive one of the latest generation to replace their vintage product.
