Teads launches first chatbot in video ads
For the first time, Teads enables users to interact directly with a video ad. Tommy Hilfiger’s „TMY.GRL“ chatbot was integrated into the inRead outstream video ad format for this purpose. In addition to Facebook Messenger, this gives Tommy Hilfiger another option in the realm of conversational commerce. Within the video ad, a call-to-action prompts users to launch the chatbot. The chatbot responds dynamically to the user’s current time of day, for example, with a friendly „Good Morning – Chat to us” at the start of the conversation. The chatbot integration into the outstream video ad format was implemented by Teads Studio (formerly Brainient). The campaign is initially running in English using the Teads formats inRead Landscape (desktop) and inRead Vertical (mobile).Items are in your shopping cartTommy Hilfiger developed its chatbot in collaboration with msg.ai to help customers worldwide discover the new collection, identify their personal style, and determine their desired clothing size. Customers can then purchase the products suggested by the chatbot by being redirected to tommy.com, where the discussed items are already in their shopping cart, ready for purchase.A new, groundbreaking formatBertrand Quesada, CEO of Teads, comments: «We are thrilled to be able to establish a new, groundbreaking format in conversational commerce together with Tommy Hilfiger. Outstream video advertising is far superior to other video ad formats in terms of customer experience and user-friendliness. This new form of personalization once again impressively strengthens the format. This integration clearly demonstrates what’s possible in innovative advertising when a forward-thinking brand and a passionate technology team work closely together. We’re confident that many more campaigns of this kind will follow once other brands recognize the potential of chatbot integration within video advertising.»
