Swisscom with new digital signage system

DIGITAL SIGNAGE Westiform has upgraded the existing Swisscom digital signage system in 90 stores with a state-of-the-art solution. Full HD and perfect synchronization of several adjacent screens are just as much a part of this as the ability to switch from the playlist to live TV on a touch panel.

Westiform has upgraded 90 Swisscom stores with modern digital signage solutions.Swisscom has been using digital signage to promote sales in its stores for several years now. Each one is equipped with three full HD screens, which form the so-called media wall. The new solution was to increase image quality, centrally control advertising in three languages, and enable intuitive switching from live TV to content in the stores. The main requirement was to continue to use the existing hardware and only to replace the software. Only the touch panel was newly purchased, which now allows Swisscom employees to switch from advertising content (playlist) to Swisscom Live TV at the touch of a button. This allows Swisscom's TV offering to be shown to customers effortlessly and in a visually appealing way.The animated advertising content runs seamlessly across up to three screens lined up simultaneously. The content can be uploaded directly via the web by Swisscom's marketing department. The data is centrally hosted by an external data center. A virtual private network (VPN), which is encrypted with 1024 bits, ensures secure data transfer to and from the stores. Westiform monitors the displays, which can be switched on and off and configured centrally. Westiform is also responsible for the support of the hardware and software. The commissioning took place within two months throughout Switzerland.More information about the project with voices of those responsible can be found in the following video:
