The 360° IP strategy

Every company owns intellectual property (IP) in the form of rights and patents. Law professor Alexander Wurzer and his co-authors look at these assets from the perspective of a company's market position and thus develop a surprisingly new view of the importance of research and development: the focus of an IP strategy should no longer be on the absolute number of patents generated, but on the systematic enforcement of prohibition rights against the competition. Key areas for innovation are identified on the basis of usage scenarios, and work is then carried out on corresponding unique selling points in the form of visible customer benefits. The implementation of such a 360-degree IP strategy is not a sure-fire success and tends to be a long-term project. However, the large number of tools, case studies and checklists in this book make it possible to work towards this systematically. getAbstract recommends the book to product managers and research managers.getAbstract rating: 7Implementability: 8Innovation level: 8Style: 5
