Time travel with the "Observer

MEDIA The Swiss magazine *Der Beobachter* is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its online edition and looking back. The celebration features a specially produced web report and a trip down memory lane to the *Beobachter* website from 1995.In 1995 went "The observerr" was the first Swiss magazine to go online. "I am proud that the Beobachter was one of the online pioneers 20 years ago, and I am very pleased that we have been able to massively expand our reach on digital channels since then. Today, our website www.beobachter.ch (with 658,000 unique clients) represents an important part of the Beobachter world. This is an excellent basis for launching further digital offerings very soon," says Roland Wahrenberger, the magazine's publishing director. The under www.beobachter.ch/20jahre takes a look at the early days of the Internet. It also shows how strongly the assessments of the newly emerging network infrastructure differed at that time.
