Best of Swiss Web: New category, prominent jury
Which Swiss e-commerce projects currently set the benchmark for digital sales? «Best of Swiss Web» will answer this question on April 17, 2019, with its newly created “Digital Commerce” category.
. A jury of prominent experts will judge all sales-relevant websites submitted by February 11. The winners will be awarded one of the traditional buoys, silver, bronze or an entry on the shortlist.
Under the direction of Pascal Sieber (sieber & partners, jury president), five experienced representatives of digital commerce providers will judge the submitted projects:
- Luca Graf, Head of Digital Innovation at Panalpina, formerly responsible for global e-commerce at SWISS
- Peter Keller, CFO at PCP.COM - Thierry Kneissler, Kneissler Consulting, formerly CEO Twint
- Markus Mahler, VR and former CEO of Brack.ch/Competec/Alltron
- Pascal Schneebeli, CEO Orell Füssli Thalia AG
The jury is complemented by two experts from specialized digital service providers:
- Nino Cometti, CEO dreipol GmbH (Interaction Design)
- Christopher Müller, CEO The Ergonomists (Usability and User Centered Design)
According to Christof Zogg, jury chairman of Best of Swiss Web and therefore responsible for the quality of the jury process, professional expertise was the decisive factor in the selection of the jurors: "Anyone who wants to adequately assess e-commerce platforms or other digital sales touchpoints today needs practical experience as a digital commerce operator or service provider. Only those who work in digital commerce on a daily basis are familiar with all facets of the business and know which critical details and key figures to look at and how to distinguish sustainable from superficial innovation."
Judging criteria
The jury of the newly created "Digital Commerce" category evaluates projects that are a benchmark for how products and services are sold digitally today. The following dimensions, among others, are assessed when evaluating digital commerce platforms:
- Experience: How attractively are the products and services presented? How clear is the shopping experience? How many clicks does it take to complete a purchase? Etc.
- Innovation: Does the platform offer innovative commerce features such as gamification, community integration, story-telling, product configurator, intelligent recommendation engine, etc.?
- Efficiency: How detailed are the individual customer activities measured? Does the platform have above-average values for relevant key figures such as conversion rate, abandonment rate, etc.?
- Process: How is the customer supported during the purchase process (e.g. through chat support, customer service callback, etc.)? How intensively is the customer informed about the order processing after the purchase?
Projects in all eleven Best of Swiss Web categories can be submitted until February 11, 2019. There will be buoys in eleven categories, which will be presented at the big award night on April 17, 2019 in front of around 1,000 guests.
The jury process of the Best of Swiss Web Awards
All submitted projects undergo a two-stage judging process. The respective expert committees for each category, which are made up of around ten selected experts, are responsible for the evaluation. A total of more than 100 jury members and the sophisticated jury procedure guarantee the highest degree of objectivity when awarding the gold, silver and bronze awards. The best of these award-winning projects will be put forward as candidates for the Master title. Finally, the Master of Swiss Web is awarded in a multi-stage jury and public vote.
