Swiss app "Bloc" identifies and blocks call center calls
No more annoying sales calls: A new Swiss app from Weblooks lets you automatically block sales calls—even on the iPhone.

"Bloc" can identify about three thousand call center, advertising, health insurance calls, etc.. It can also be used to block individual numbers or all together. In addition, you can also enter entries independently and use the app accordingly as a contact manager for unwanted numbers, so that you can keep your own contact list clean.
The own entries can also be shared automatically as a profile and the numbers contained therein are considered in each case before an update (a check takes place whether the numbers are really to be assigned to such a category). All data is stored and transmitted in encrypted form. So you remain completely anonymous.
The App also does not require the Internet. According to the announcement, the latest iOS 10 technology is used, with which developers can define an app as a CallKit extension. iOS fetches the call center number data that "Bloc" provides. "Bloc" runs automatically in the background. Before an incoming call, the iPhone checks the numbers in the "Bloc" app.
