Q-Awards 2014: With quality, consistency and courage to success
Q-AWARD No lifestyle topics, no marketing content and no PR articles - only the readers' need for information determines the content. With this approach, the Swiss parenting magazine published by Fritz und Fränzi is not only successful with its readers, but also with advertisers. For this, the specialist magazine was awarded the Q-Award 2014 by the Swiss Media Association.<span] The effort has paid off: the Swiss parents' magazine was awarded the Q-Award 2014.Relaunch of the print magazine, expansion of the editorial team, full iPad version, iApp with extensive services and interfaces to augmented reality, podcast, newsletter, videos, Facebook, new website, multimedia lectures - Fritz und Fränzi's journalistic business model pulls out all the stops in the modern media world. Actually amazing for a title in this difficult environment that has to get by with minimal resources. But the makers know exactly what makes them successful: the basis is high credibility through articles, created by an independent, competent editorial team that is consistently geared to readers' needs. And then it's a matter of delivering this content to as many people as possible on as many channels as possible in the right, media- and user-friendly form. The Swiss parents' magazine has succeeded in this, as the Q Award jury emphasizes. But it was not only the new digital offerings and the successful cross-media implementation that attracted the jury's attention. This year, the print product underwent a comprehensive relaunch. The new layout is tidy and has lost the old "schoolbook" character. The content gains in calmness and clarity with new sections, and eight additional pages offer space for an extensive dossier, with which a main topic is dealt with in each number. In addition, there are more reading stories. The declared goal of moving away from problem-describing to problem-solving information has been achieved.Other nomineesIn addition to the winner Fritz and Fränzi, two other titles were nominated for the Q-Award: Wohnrevue and Bildung Schweiz.
