Brain Tuning
Brain tuning - that sounds a little crazy at first. Yet the possibility of using the latest scientific findings to "hack" our mental performance, i.e. to optimize it through small interventions, is not without appeal. Such an approach runs counter to the common view that our intelligence is more or less rigidly predetermined. This view can become the source of many frustrations: We think we're going full throttle mentally, but we're not really making progress, the engine isn't pulling as we'd like it to. This was also the experience of Dave Asprey, a biohacker and the inventor of the alleged miracle drink "Bulletproof Coffee". In Hirntuning he summarizes the results and presents practical tips for people who do not like to accept the limitations that seem to be set by nature to their mental performance. The whole thing reads very exciting, but is in large parts quite speculative. Many of the tips are based on daring hypotheses, for which there are certainly serious indications, but which are far from being sufficiently researched. At least the author makes no secret of this and actively distinguishes between proven findings and suspected connections. In any case, Get Abstract finds it a worthwhile read.Get Abstract Rating: 8Implementability: 10Innovation Level: 9Style: 6
