Power generation is changing, the demand for electricity is increasing. It is becoming increasingly demanding to guarantee a stable power supply. The Swiss extra-high voltage grid is one of the country's critical infrastructures. With its Strategy 2022, owner and operator Swissgrid is laying the foundations for Switzerland's electricity future. Accordingly, Swissgrid is also sharpening its brand identity and communication.

Clear positioning in the face of growing public interest

With the conversion and expansion of the extra-high voltage network, Swissgrid is increasingly in the public spotlight. A clear positioning ensures the necessary credibility. "Thanks to the analytical approach and expertise of Scholtysik & Partner, we succeeded in crystallizing the core of our identity and brand from the numerous and diverse demands placed on Swissgrid," says Irene Fischbach, Head of Communication & Stakeholder Affairs at Swissgrid.

Brand identity for the future

Communicative, variable and digital: In developing Swissgrid's corporate design, the branding and design agency Scholtysik & Partner focuses on digital communication and active dialog. The illustration style and icons impress with a reduced and clear language of forms. The renowned Zurich photographer Tom Haller creates dynamic, lifelike images. Special attention is paid to the design of maps and plans: clear, transparent, easy to grasp.

Completely new online communication in association with Namics

In collaboration with the full-service digital agency Namics, the new website design is created. Fully geared to the needs of the various users, the in-depth topic dossiers promote understanding of Swissgrid's sometimes complex field of activity. A novelty is the interactive map function based on GEO data. It offers interested parties a realistic representation of lines and network projects. The new website is being implemented by the Liestal-based company One Inside using Adobe Experience Manager.

Anchoring strategy and brand

The strategy and positioning are discussed in greater depth with employees at internal events. Scholtysik & Partner closely accompanies the internal implementation: "The employees shape the Swissgrid brand. With their daily actions, they determine how Swissgrid is perceived by the public and partners. We involve them right from the start," says Denise Delémont, Partner and Head of Mandate at Scholtysik & Partner.

Swissgrid had entrusted Scholtysik & Partner with the further development of the brand as lead agency in early 2017 as part of a public, multi-stage process in accordance with GATT/WTO.
