The second D:Pulse attracts over 1200 visitors
D:Pulse, Switzerland’s major digital marketing event, took place for the second time in Zurich on February 1. Under the theme «Connect – Experience – Learn,» IAB Switzerland invited renowned national and international speakers to Switzerland’s largest industry gathering. The 2018 «Digital Marketing Award» was also presented as part of D:Pulse.

The second D:Pulse was heralded with a pulsating heartbeat. David Burst, President of IAB Switzerland, opened the digital marketing event in Hall 622 in Oerlikon: "The visitor numbers show that D:Pulse is already a permanent fixture in the Swiss digital marketing industry. With over 1200 guests, we have grown and found a great location in Hall 622 that meets the increased demands."
In numerous keynotes, work stores and master class sessions, visitors had the opportunity to learn about the latest insights from Germany and abroad, engage in practical exchanges and network.
International inputs on the Center Stage
On the Center Stage, exciting keynotes from international thought leaders and experts alternated on future trends in digital marketing. International speakers such as Gregory Galant (Shorty Awards), Pete Blackshaw (Nestlé), Nick Lawson (MediaCom) and Sophie Blum (Procter & Gamble) set impulses and provided plenty of energy.
At the Closing Keynote, Yext founder Howard Lerman sat in the Hot Chair and gave his outlook on what companies can expect: "Billions of people around the world are connected via intelligent services," Lerman explained, "This is the intelligent transformation. A lot has changed, and a lot more is coming. As a company, you may not have control over the user interfaces of these smart services, and you obviously can't control the algorithms that influence their behavior, but you can at least control what information is available about your company. And as long as you can control what the smart services know about you, you can control what is said about you."

Additional inspiration was provided for the visitors in the parallel Work Shops and Master Classes. In the Biz & Agency Lounge, visitors were invited to network and to the closing party.
Sophie Blum explained the challenges ahead: "The future belongs to ambidextrous leaders. We need integrative, responsive leadership fueled by the Science of Big Data and the Art of Creativity to relentlessly exceed consumers' expectations and be at the innovation forefront".
Presentation of the Digital Marketing Award 2018
Another highlight of the day was the 8th awarding of the "Digital Marketing Awards". In the categories "Digital Marketer", "Digital Agency" and "Digital Newcomer", exceptional projects and achievements of companies, organizations and individuals were awarded.
