Instagram Stories may soon be able to be posted as Whatsapp statuses
Facebook is apparently allowing some users, on a trial basis, to post Instagram Stories as their WhatsApp status. Like on Snapchat, these posts automatically disappear after 24 hours.
Last fall, Facebook introduced the option for users to post their Instagram Stories on Facebook. The social network is now planning to do the same for WhatsApp, reports according to the tech blog "Techcrunch". According to this, a test phase is currently underway in which a few users are posting stories (i.e. edited photos and videos) as WhatsApp statuses.
Whatsapp Status already allows users to publish photos, videos or GIFs that disappear again after 24 hours - similar to Snapchat. In November, 300 million users are said to have used Instagram Stories every day.
