In today's abundance of comparable products, the service component is increasingly coming into focus. Customers expect an omnichannel experience when interacting with a brand. Service design conceives and designs services and product systems by focusing on brand-faithful and customer-oriented solutions. It is an effective tool for defining the customer experience of a brand at all touchpoints.

"Our brand strategy projects are increasingly about finding answers to the digital transformation and approaches for new business models, services and products. In this context, service design plays an important role for us in creating sustainable brands for our clients," said Andreas Roth, Creative Director, in a press release.

Recently, Gyselroth has increasingly realized commissions with a strong focus on service design. As a result, Teresa Brand, who holds a Master of Arts in Service Design, has been supporting the strategy and design team since this year. The targeted use of service design should not only ensure effective and simple processes, but also make a significant contribution to strengthening the brand.

The possibilities offered by the relatively new approach of service design are not yet fully exploited in Switzerland, writes the agency. The financial and insurance sector in particular, which sells a product that was previously complex for the user and would like to appear more attractive and accessible, could benefit from this. However, the tourism industry, which is all about conveying experiences and is inevitably faced with digitalization, also holds great potential. Other sectors such as retail and industry, which rely on product differentiation, or the healthcare sector, which wants to create an understanding of specialist topics among users, should be supported in their efforts by service design in the future.
