Westiform plans to cut around 40 jobs in Berne
Westiform, a company best known for illuminated advertising, plans to cut about 40 of the 145 jobs at its headquarters in Niederwangen near Bern. It attributes this to price pressure in Switzerland and changes in customer behavior.

More and more customers are putting money into digital advertising rather than analog lettering, the company wrote in a statement on Wednesday. Large-scale projects in illuminated advertising have therefore failed to materialize recently.
The company now wants to become leaner and focus even more strongly on the digital market. Exactly how severe the job cuts will be and how the restructuring will proceed will be determined after the end of the consultation process with the workforce. This process ends in mid-November.
Production and production-related departments in particular are to be redimensioned. The largest production site of the Swiss family-owned company with a total of over 400 employees is Germany, followed by Switzerland, the Czech Republic and China. (SDA)
