Cheers instead of prohibition
Budweiser is celebrating the end of Prohibition in the U.S. with a retro beer—and is teaming up with ride-hailing service Lyft to add that extra '30s flair.

"1933 Repeal Reserve Amber Lager" is the name of the beer that Budweiser is launching on the US market for a limited period. What makes it special: It is brewed according to the original recipe of founder Adolphus Busch from the pre-Prohibition era. At the time, the original did not have the chance to leave its "birthplace" of St. Louis and be drunk and loved in other regions - Prohibition intervened in 1920 and banned all alcohol nationwide. Until the end of Prohibition was declared in 1933. You can still drink to that today.
Launching a limited-edition beer based on an old original recipe... Eichhof Retro sends its regards. Even if it cannot be assumed that the Americans were inspired by Central Switzerland.

The idea behind the collaboration with Uber competitor Lyft, on the other hand, seems quite new: on October 25, numerous original vehicles from that era will be on the streets of New York and can be requested via the Lyft app. The ride will then take you across the city, past places, houses and streets that played an important role during the Prohibition era. Learning by cruising. And you get the special beer for free. If you are at least 21 years old - and almost more importantly: if you happen to be in New York on Wednesday - then you can try your luck: Lyft.com/BudVintageMode. Have a good trip and cheers!
