Gentleman meets dog poo
What dog poop has in common with custom-made clothing.

How do you advertise a fashion retailer that offers tailor-made clothing for men? The answer from Czech agency Nydrle: posters depicting a man picking up dog excrement. Smiling in a friendly way, after all. After all, the company being advertised is called FriendlySuits.
The dog and his master are stylishly dressed: The dog wears a red scarf to match the man's red sack. Plus dark jeans, shirt and leather shoes. And white socks, well. To be fair, the slogan certainly conveys the right message. "Good manners are a gentleman's strong suit." Loosely translated: Good manners are a gentleman's strong suit, with strong suit also meaning "strong suit". Below (translated): "Actions make the man. We make his clothes."

The illustrations are certainly successful, in the style of the 1920s. However, the choice of images leaves open speculation as to whether the desired clientele feels addressed. The second poster in the campaign also takes a little getting used to: a man preparing a hamburger with a cigarette in his mouth. En Guete. (aks)
