A recent example from France shows just how shamelessly a commercial can be copied.

The anonymous blogger with the pseudonym "Joe La Pompe" reveals on his Blog Since 1999 so-called Copycatsplagiarism in the creative industry. A frequent phenomenon that can certainly be explained by chance from time to time: The risk of two people having the same good idea sooner or later without knowing about each other. Visitors to the blog can vote on whether each comparison is a coincidence or intentional.
At latest case the case seems clear. Because the parallels are all too obvious. The French notary's office Immonot has "recreated" a commercial from the Norwegian agency Try from 2011 and thus created its own TV commercial. The special thing about it: Immonot not only copied the idea of the multi-award-winning commercial with George Clooney, but also reproduced the original commercial shot for shot. The whole thing is of a quality that looks more like a school class has been given the task of recreating famous commercials. Joe La Pompe has gone to the trouble of comparing the corresponding frames of the two versions as screenshots (picture above).
According to the portal, the second commercial was at least created in-house and not by an agency. That is immediately believable. And it was probably produced more for the regional TV stage. According to the motto: "Nobody will notice". Certainly not the best idea in this day and age, because sooner or later everything is exposed on the Internet - especially in this industry. (hae)
