Corpmedia: Interactive visitor foyer for Swisscom
The storytelling agency and media production company Corpmedia, in collaboration with Bertram Bieler, was commissioned to redesign the public visitor lobby at the Swisscom data center in Herderen.
With the aim of making the building, which was designed by star architect Theo Hotz and is a listed building, its history and the technology it contains an interactive experience.

The cloud is at home in Swisscom's data centers. After Corpmedia had already developed the visitor tour of the Wankdorf data center, the Zurich agency was now also called upon to bring the iconic building near the Hardturm to life for the public.

Using a specially developed app, visitors have the opportunity to rotate the building on giant touchscreens and view it from all angles, call up background information and have specific functionalities explained to them in short animated films.
Using a tablet, visitors can also take a look behind the scenes of the data center, and 360° photographs also provide a virtual view of the rooms.

"This kind of live storytelling and interaction enables completely new dimensions" says Corpmedia's owner and managing director, Timo Wäschle. "It is simply a pleasure to see how visitors interact with our content and inform themselves independently. This is a huge step towards virtual reality" The Rechenzentrum Herdern is already open for visitors.
