Tamedia subsidiary Starticket takes over ticket portal
The media company Tamedia is expanding its presence in the ticketing business. Its subsidiary, Starticket, is taking over the Swiss ticketing operations of the software company Ticketportal.
The takeover will be completed through an exchange of shares. The previous owners of Ticketportal will become shareholders of the Tamedia subsidiary.
With the merger, Starticket strengthens its market position as Switzerland's number two in the ticketing market and now offers an additional range of services and products from a single source, according to a statement on Thursday. The media group is not disclosing the size of the transaction.
According to this announcement, the St. Gallen-based company Ticketportal specializes in ticketing sales concepts for event organizers. The company has been working closely with Starticket since the beginning of 2014. Tamedia holds a 75 percent stake in Starticket. (SDA)
