Digital Economic Forum in Zurich for the first time
The newly created Digital Economic Forum (DEF) will take place for the first time on May 5 and 6, 2015 at the newly opened Kameha Grand lifestyle hotel in Zurich.
The focus is on the full potential of digital technologies, developments in politics, security and compliance as well as the requirements for cross-border information and value creation. The consequences of universal digitalization are revolutionary and existential for the economy and society, according to a press release issued on Tuesday. The speed of innovations and concepts is so breathtaking that start-ups are competing with large corporations in the shortest possible time. Business leaders are challenged to keep their bearings in a process of change that constantly requires new thinking, new rules, new partners and increased change. With the DEF, entrepreneurs Oliver Stoldt (Premium Conferences) and Hans-Jürg Rufener (Rufener Events) have created a new platform in Zurich that brings together new trends, standards and the people behind them, regardless of industry. The organizing team includes Christian Wenger (Wenger und Vieli), Vera Brannen (Usable Brands) and Marcel Altherr (Inventique).
The DEF focuses on the global potential of digital technologies, developments in politics, security and compliance as well as universal information and value creation. The new forum harmonizes with the "Digital Zurich 2025" initiative of Zurich media entrepreneurs, politicians and banking and business representatives, which aims to turn the greater Zurich region into a digital cluster of European significance. With the forum, DEF founder Oliver Stoldt wants to "bring the greatest digital expertise to Zurich for a knowledge-hungry audience and enable an annual assessment of the current situation in a digitalized world". It is aimed at CEOs and CIOs from large companies and SMEs as well as information and communication technology (ICT) experts.
