Last but not least: Save the snowmen

It's not a Greenpeace campaign, but an insurance ad: Zurich, in collaboration with McCann, is launching a major rescue operation for snowmen.

In times of climate change and global warming, at first glance you might suspect a different message behind the lavish campaign. In the commercial created by McCann Worldgroup, the insurance company collects snowmen in a Swiss village in spring and saves them from the "deadly" thaw. A refrigerated truck, ski lift and sledge take them to higher (and above all colder) climes.

The system is somewhat reminiscent of "snow farming": ski resorts produce snow in advance on cooler days and cover it over the summer at higher altitudes. As a result, before the start of the alpine skiing season in Sölden, for example, those responsible say that it doesn't matter if it snows in time, they still have enough of last year's snow in stock.

But back to the snowmen: they also spend the winter high up and symbolize the fact that you have to take care of the things that are important to you with the necessary care and foresight.

The spot is linked to a digital Competitionwhere you can send in photos of your own snowman. Whoever wins will meet their own snowman in the Swiss Alps. As if that wasn't enough, the lucky winner can also take their whole family with them on their trip to Switzerland. If you can't or don't want to build your own snowman, you can also use a generator. According to Creativity-online.com will first be shown in German cinemas and then launched globally. (hae)
