Last but not least: Movies in principle yes, but...

With well-produced image or product videos, advertising professionals can greatly enhance a company’s website—both visually and in terms of content. But Interdiscount shows exactly how not to do it in a new video.

The idea wasn't bad at all: a promotional film should explain the advantages of the new Windows 7 operating system to the user. What could be easier than a conversation between customer and salesperson? The concept is in place, the aim is to recreate as real a consulting situation as possible in a sales outlet. Only then a few things probably went wrong. (For information: Werbewoche has no precise details of the circumstances under which the production took place. The scenario outlined is therefore purely speculative).
The text is ready, off to the nearest Interdiscount. Hiring professional actors wouldn't be a bad idea, but it's questionable whether it really comes across as authentic. It would be much easier to take two employees from the store. They might not be able to memorize the text, but the store has a teleprompter for that. Run through the scenario two or three times in the coffee room and you're ready to go. Et voilà, but see for yourself:

> About the film

But you have to give the makers credit for one thing. The video must have hit like a bomb. Or how else can you explain why the website was unavailable for hours on Tuesday?
