Last but not least: News from the ass of the world

Two years ago, Home24 took a sharp (and funny) jab at Ikea & Co. with its «Arsch der Welt» campaign. Now, the campaign has a worthy successor.

Remember the TV commercials? "You don't buy furniture at the ass end of the world anymore, but conveniently online," taught Home24.de - a company you hadn't heard of before. And which continues to be unknown in Switzerland. Actually a pity, because the argument with the free delivery makes sense. After all, you don't really want to feel at home at your local Swedish store if you go when everyone else has time. And the car is usually a decisive centimeter too short for Billy & Co.

Long story short: The campaign by Jung von Matt/Fleet from Berlin was one thing above all: Funny. Depending on your sense of humor. The big furniture stores are by nature not around the corner, but just... where the building land is cheap and the highway has an exit.

Now Home24 and the Berlin agency are returning to the advertising stage. And once again they're targeting the dumb people who still pick up their furniture themselves. This time, the focus is on the huge self-service halls, where people search for their chosen items after endless wanderings through the furniture store. Thomas B., who has been missing for four years, got lost in there looking for the Amadao side table in natural beech when he "must have taken a wrong turn somewhere at shelf 14." Despite "hostile surroundings", the father of two demonstrated an "almost unbelievable will to survive" and was eventually rescued from his predicament by rescuers. His harrowing rescue was captured in a 45-second Internet commercial....

...and homecoming explained in three variations in the TV commercial. Buying furniture could be so simple - they have to admit that even in the far north. Simple - but without mini hot dogs and meatballs. (hae)
