New head of communications at TCS
Moreno Volpi, the TCS's current head of communications, is leaving the TCS after five years to take on a new role. RTS journalist Yves Gerber will succeed him on July 1, 2014.
Moreno Volpi has been responsible for TCS communications since 2009 and has had a strong impact on TCS's internal and external communications during this time, according to a statement issued by the association on Thursday. After five years, he will leave TCS on May 31, 2014, to take on a new challenge.
His successor Yves Gerber will take over the business as well as the management of the communications departments in Vernier and Berne on July 1, 2014. Yves Gerber has many years of experience in the media and communications sector. For the past 12 years, he has worked as a journalist for RTS radio and television in western Switzerland. He was also involved in the launch of the Sunday newspaper Dimanche.ch and worked as a communications consultant for various companies. Yves Gerber is a native French speaker and also speaks German and Italian.
In the transitional month of June, the leadership will be taken over on an interim basis by Rudolf Zumbühl, the director of the Corporate Communication functional area. Yves Gerber and his team will be tasked with coordinating the club's entire internal and external communications and further developing the perception of TCS. Like his predecessor, he will also act as spokesman for the media in western Switzerland.
