Tages-Anzeiger: Redesign for Print and Online
For the launch of the new digital subscriptions at the end of March, all Tages-Anzeiger platforms, from the newspaper to the apps to the news portal Tagesanzeiger.ch, will appear in a new layout. From now on, the Tages-Anzeiger comes from a single source in terms of content and design.
The same fonts are now used on the digital channels as in the newspaper. The number of images on the desktop front page has been reduced, but they are used larger. This improves the reading flow and dramaturgy of the page and at the same time helps to keep the quality of the images high.
The newspaper also appears today in a slightly adapted layout. In addition, starting with today's issue, QR codes will show what added value can be found digitally on a topic. The "Tages-Anzeiger" will thus be even more clearly recognizable as a brand on various channels. On page two, the most popular articles from the blogs will in future be published in excerpts alongside the daily commentary. The reader forum page will now show the reactions and moods on all channels.
At Digitalabo.tagesanzeiger.ch will inform the editorial team about the innovations at the Tages-Anzeiger starting this afternoon. The long form will be continuously updated over the next few weeks.
New claim: "You are what you read"
A new brand identity was introduced at the same time as the new layout. The publisher developed this together with Wirz. After around 20 years of "We're staying tuned" and "Keeping up", the new slogan is: Tages-Anzeiger "You are what you read". Gordon Nemitz, Executive Strategy Director at Wirz, summarizes what's behind it: "With the new claim, we're aiming for a change of perspective. Instead of being reduced solely to educational journalism, we want to focus on the broad journalistic quality of the Tages-Anzeiger and its individual significance for readers."
Together with the claim, the brand design was also adapted. All advertising materials will appear in a refreshed design in the next few days. In terms of design, they will be closer to the new layout of the newspaper and the digital channels.
