Who will win an Edi.13?
Approximately 250 entries from the fields of advertising, industrial, and corporate films were submitted for an Edi. Fifty-two films were selected for the shortlist presented here. The awards will be presented on November 7 at the Schiffbau in Zurich.
With around 250 works, the Swissfilm Association sees a "gratifyingly large number of submissions" for the 2013 vintage. This is almost a "long-term high," says Managing Director Rita Kovacs. For President Peter Beck, the general level is also high. The jury could see "many well-produced works." Somewhat rarer were "the surprising outliers to the top". But if you look closely at the shortlist, "you will be able to guess the winners," says Rita Kovacs. Werbewoche shows here PDF of the shortlist (Werbewoche) the 52 films on the shortlist. The film industry is in the midst of a process of change. The Internet has become Switzerland's biggest "cinema. Where companies used to present themselves with photos, moving images now call the shots. But not every picture says more than the famous 1000 words. There are also a lot of amateurs on the web. The technical changes are turning the film industry into a jekami. "This tempts some clients to use semi-professionals like these to make a film cheaply," says Peter Beck of the Swissfilm Association. But what is underestimated, in addition to autofocus, are the challenges of script development. That's why ideas, concepts and professionally created coherence have once again gained in importance when judging the entries for the Edi film competition.
