Paul Gredinger died
Paul Gredinger, former CEO of the once internationally active agency GGK, is dead. He died on Sunday at his residence in Thalwil ZH. Gredinger was 86 years old.
"Paul Gredinger died Oct. 6." The obituary published Tuesday consists of just this one sentence. Hermann Strittmatter, head of GGK Zurich, confirmed an obituary in the NZZ on Tuesday. Strittmatter added on request that Gredinger had been suffering from cancer for some time. Gredinger's active activity as GGK managing director dates back several years. Karl Gerstner and Markus Kutter founded the advertising agency in Basel in 1959, and three years later Gredinger, who had studied architecture, joined them. GGK made a name for itself with unconventional campaigns. In addition to up to five GGK offices in Germany, there were also offices in London and Paris. In New York, the agency worked with a partner. In the late 1980s, GGK began to flounder economically. In 1990, Gredinger finally sold his shares to the PR agency Trimedia. Later, parts were sold to TWBA. In 1999, Strittmatters' Zurich office left the TWBA Group again and has since been operating under the name GGK again.
