Futurecom: Energy check put online

With Energieschweiz.ch, the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) maintains an information portal with the aim of answering the population's energy questions. Futurecom has implemented a consumption calculator for this purpose.

To counteract the steady rise in energy demand, the SFOE is working to change consumers' behavior, according to a statement. But hardly any Swiss know whether their energy consumption is high or low. To change this, the SFOE is launching the Energy Check.

This question can now be answered quickly thanks to a tool implemented by Futurecom. Interested parties are guided through the areas of heating/hot water, electricity and mobility on the basis of easy-to-answer questions, and thanks to data exchange via web services, their consumption is continuously calculated and illustrated. In the final evaluation, users can see at a glance how much energy they are consuming. There are also practical tips and advice on how to save energy, which can be saved as a PDF together with the results of the energy check.

Energieschweiz also uses the energy check directly on site at various trade fairs in a form optimized for tablets. In addition, the energy check was implemented with web services in such a way that it can also be used by interested third parties.
