Publigroupe sells 51 percent of Xentive

Publigroupe is selling a 51 percent stake in Xentive, Publicitas' business process outsourcing provider, to Mediaspectrum. With this new shareholder, Xentive is expected to significantly expand its range of services.

Mediaspectrum will benefit from the sale of shares from an already established organization with extensive expertise in the areas of BFO and system integration for the media industry, as Publigroupe writes in a press release on Friday. Xentive is to become an important partner in the expansion of Mediaspectrum's solution platform for multi-channel advertising and content management in the DACH region and in France. The new platform should enable Publicitas to significantly reduce its IT costs.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the fall of 2013. From then on, Xentive and its 130 employees will operate as an independent subsidiary of Mediaspectrum. The sale is subject to approval by the Swiss Competition Commission (ComCo).

In future, the expanded service portfolio of Xentive, which will continue to be managed by the current CEO Christian Rohrbach, will be split into two divisions:

- BPO Services: This area is intended to offer media companies a complete range of services - from full-service offerings to the individual development and maintenance of tools based on the new Mediaspectrum platform.

- Integrator Support: This area will support Mediaspectrum's integrators in the customer acquisition and service delivery process, particularly in the DACH and France regions, which are key to Mediaspectrum's growth in Central Europe.

The introduction of the Mediaspectrum platform should enable Publicitas to significantly reduce its IT costs. By acquiring new media companies as customers with the help of this platform, Xentive will also reduce the costs per order processing due to economies of scale to the benefit of all corporate customers - including Publicitas, Publigroupe continued in the press release.
