Newsnet paralyzed
Newsnetz.ch, the joint news network of Basler Zeitung, Berner Zeitung, Bund and Tages-Anzeiger, was the victim of a hack attack. The website was paralyzed on Sunday.
Anyone visiting the Newsnetz on Sunday afternoon was shown a page inserted by the hackers. The website was then deactivated and was still unavailable on Monday. In contrast, the websites of the daily newspapers involved were not affected by the attack, as they run on a separate system, as Eliane Gräser, media spokesperson for Tamedia, explained at the request of Inside-it.ch magazine. In-depth investigations into the attack are currently being carried out and the system is being analyzed. As soon as these checks have been completed, the content of the website will be published again, Gräser continued.
