Dialog Marketing Prize: 20 awards presented
On May 27, 2011, the Swiss Direct Marketing Association (SDV) presented the Swiss Dialog Marketing Award to the best dialog marketing campaigns at the Kongresshaus in Zurich. A total of 20 awards were presented, including three special prizes. The big winner of the evening was the agency am Flughafen.
Awards were presented in twelve categories. However, awards were only actually presented in eleven categories. The jury was uncompromising in the newly created "Art Direction" category, as detailed in a press release. It honored none of the final entries with precious metal. "The jury's standards are extremely high in this category in particular," said Christian Huldi, Chairman of the jury. "I see the fact that no entry was awarded a prize as a result of the good and high-quality composition of the jury."
In addition to 17 prizes in the respective categories, three special prizes were awarded. The Audience Award, sponsored by AZ Direct, went to the Y&R Group. The company placed life-size cardboard fish otters along the roads for the Goldau Nature and Animal Park Association, successfully appealing for donations for a new facility. The SDV Junior Award went to Sebastian Eppler. His campaign "Spiel mir das Lied vom Sieg" is a proposal for next year's submission for the Swiss Dialog Marketing Award and plays with all channels and the staging of the message.
Agency at the airport and Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett on the podium
The big winner of the evening was the agency at the airport. It won gold twice and bronze twice and was also awarded the platinum prize sponsored by Swiss Post. This is awarded to the best of all the entries submitted. The award-winning mailing promotes training in textiles and appeals to young people and teaching staff alike. The realization was also worth gold to the jury in the "Production" category, in which future-oriented implementations and technologies are awarded.
Also in the top ranks: The agency Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett, which is also regularly in the top 5 at the ADC. In addition to gold for its work for the Woz weekly newspaper, SFLB secured second place in the agency ranking with two bronze awards. "We are delighted that a traditional agency with three campaigns has won three prizes," says Erik Neumann, member of the SDV Executive Committee and responsible for the award. "It shows how close the disciplines and, above all, the creatives in communication are today. It's no longer about the battle between the disciplines, but about the right paths to the customer and the best possible overarching solutions to advertising challenges."
With 17 percent more entries than last year, the SDV is very satisfied. The experienced jury had a mammoth task to complete within a day and a half in evaluating all the entries. In the end, 37 entries made it onto the shortlist. This corresponds to 16 percent of the submitted works). In the end, around 10 percent of the entries actually received an award.
