Ads come under the microscope

Advertisers and media agencies now have access to a new standardized verification process for checking the print quality of print ads.

The Print Quality Control (PQC) service, which is unique in Europe, was initiated by the Zolliker company Media Audit and Ringier Print and developed by Empa. Ringier, Tamedia, Basler Mediengruppe and Berner Tagblatt Medien are the first publishers to submit to the control. In the process, the ad copy and the published ad are compared using a photospectral measuring device. If color values deviate too much from the original, the customer can demand a replacement.
The contacts for checks are Media Audit and Ringier Print. The latter carries out the checks at the customer's request and against payment. (mk)
