After seven years at Wirz, where he was most recently CEO of Public Relations AG, Thomas P. Hermann is moving to Ogilvy, where he will become Managing Partner of the new Swiss branch of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide as of July 2. Along with Hermann, his assistant Yves Baer is also moving from Wirz to Ogilvy, as well as from the clients Medtronic, the leading pacemaker company, tire manufacturer Michelin, Big Star Jeans and the Zurich Children's Hospital. "However, the relationship with Wirz is completely unencumbered," explains Hermann.
The special circumstances: Ogilvy was Wirz PR's most important client for years, with an IBM budget for the London office.
Hermann was attracted to Ogilvy on Bergstrasse in Zurich by the fact that he would find "a similar structure to Wirz - but all under one brand". Hermann has also always been interested in international business. Ogilvy PR is the fastest growing agency network in the world among the top 20 in the industry and today has 53 offices in 47 markets. In Switzerland, Hermann is aiming for "a medium-sized agency" (pan).
