M6 launched despite gaps

The Swiss commercial break has been airing on M6 since last Monday.

The Swiss advertising window has been on M6 since last Monday, but the offer is limited to primetime; clients will not be able to book all advertising islands until February. The most important restriction is the lack of full coverage of the cable networks in western Switzerland. Commitments are still outstanding, among others from the network operators of Geneva and Lausanne, as IPM Managing Director Michi Frank confirmed to WerbeWoche. This means that the M6 advertising window has not yet reached the audience in the two most populous conurbations in French-speaking Switzerland. Frank hopes to fill the gaps quickly: "We are signing new contracts with network operators every day," he said.
The reasons for the recalcitrance are well known: The strong solidarity of politics with TSR comes into play. In Geneva and in Lausanne, the political communities themselves have a stake in the cable networks. (dse/av)
