The Print Media division suffered a decline in sales of 9 per cent to CHF 647 million. With a minus of 4 per cent, the decline in the Services division was somewhat less pronounced, where Tamedia achieved sales of CHF 79 million. Electronic media recorded growth of 19 per cent, with revenues rising from CHF 23 million to CHF 28 million. According to Tamedia, the main reason for the decline in the print sector was the fall in job advertisements. However, orders for commercial advertisements also decreased in 2001. In electronic media, the acquisition of the Belcom Group was responsible for the marked increase in sales. In the Services division, printing revenues decreased; the acquisition of the book service had a positive effect. Detailed information on the 2001 financial year will be published on April 23.
