This year, advertising agencies submitted over 230 advertising motifs for evaluation in the competition for the coveted Urs Trophy. The jury nominated three subjects each for the award in the categories "Best small Bernese advertisement", "Best local Bernese advertisement" and "Best national Bernese advertisement".
Fredy Collioud, jury president and former advertising celebrity in Bern, eloquently hosted the award ceremony. The event in the Kursaal was hosted by Stefan Frank, who works for Radio BE1. As every year, the Urs'03 is unique. This time the trophy was created by the Bernese sculptor
Walter Kretz. The winners also received attractive prizes in the form of free advertisements in the local print media.

Also nominated were Gsund & Gnuss, Bern/agency: Sonnenwerbung, Bern, and Oprandi+Partner, Bern/agency: Denis Jeitziner Text+Konzept/Careof Kommunikation GmbH, Bern.
The Bear for the Best Bernese Local Advertisement and a two-color free advertisement page in the daily newspaper Der Bund goes to Contexta, Bern, for its "Marthaler must stay" motif. The nominees were Bernmobil, Bern/agency: Lang Gysi Knoll, Bern, and Bifang Garage, Pieterlen/agency: Tasty Graphics, Bern.

For the "Graphic Design Prize", budding graphic designers from the Bern and Biel School of Design created ideas on the topic of "The advertisement as ambassador". Esther Zimmermann from Wabern won the travel voucher and thus the first prize.
