Look me in the eye, James

Clothing James, five years old, male, born in Cameroon, orphan, and: the latest advertising figure of the Italian clothing multinational Benetton. together with other orphaned apes, the chimpanzee is to help develop Benetton's advertising credo of "otherness". At the same time, the communication project contributes to the protection of man's closest relatives, which are dying out. With the worldwide launch of the poster campaign in mid-October, the book "James and other Apes" will also be published by Boot Verlag. The animals were photographed by Kenyan James Mollison, a member of the Benetton Research Center for Communication, Fabrica. The portraits will be exhibited at the Natural History Museum in London from May to September next year.
