Press Council loses funding

Self-regulation The Swiss Press Association is calling on its members to cease all financial support for the Swiss Press Council with immediate effect in response to the Foundation Board's decision not to enter into negotiations on the inclusion of publishers in the Press Council's sponsorship. For the association, this is a "destructive act of defiance by frustrated functionaries" of the journalists' associations, which links trade union objectives with the issue of journalistic professional ethics.
