Media Award 2005 goes to EJO

This year's Media Award from the Association for Quality in Journalism goes to the European Journalism Observatory (EJO) at the University of Lugano.

The Media Award of the Quality in
Journalism goes to the European Journalism Observatory this year
(EJO) of the University of Lugano. The prize was awarded for the third time this year.
It is awarded for the third time and honors quality assurance initiatives. The
Institute conducts media research, but is mainly concerned with
transfer of research and cooperates with media editorial offices. EJO
publishes the journalistic work on its website in
German, Italian and English. The institute in Lugano is thus
bridges within Europe and achieves high synergies, justifies
the jury made its decision.
Recognition was given to the observer for his handbook and his
editorial management instrument E-Tool as well as the
Swiss Radio DRS for its mission statement and the Bieler Tagblatt, where
a review of the sheet is carried out before it is printed. This year
MAZ Director Sylvia Egli von Matt, the Head of the Media Institute of the
Swiss Press Association, Karl Lüönd, media professor Roger Blum,
SR-DRS Head of Information Marco Färber, DRS editor Karin Müller and
the author and initiator of the Media Award Michael Walther on the jury
represent.
