POP Impact Lab: AI and creativity in dialog
On April 27, 2026, the new POP Impact Lab event at Vergani in Zurich brought together about 50 guests from the worlds of science, business, and the creative scene. The focus was on the question of how AI and creativity are changing human thought.

On Monday evening, April 27, 2026, the new format was launched POP Impact Lab held its kick-off evening at Vergani on Löwenplatz in Zurich. Under the title «AI vs. Human Creativity», a space was created in which AI and creativity were not just treated as abstract concepts, but were discussed and scrutinized in concrete terms. Around 50 selected guests from science, business and the creative scene accepted the invitation.
Science meets real questions about AI and creativity
The evening focused on the question: How is artificial intelligence changing our creativity - and our thinking? Young scientists from ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich provided scientifically sound contributions. According to the organizers, these opened up new ways of thinking, so that many guests left the evening with specific questions and a deeper interest in the topic. The collaboration was made possible with the support of Life Science Zurich.

The audience was deliberately curated - a mix of perspectives that rarely come together in everyday life. Partners from the fields of education and innovation, including Suncademy and Avantcha, supported the format.
A format that brings knowledge to life
POP Impact Lab deliberately focuses on interactive experience rather than traditional knowledge transfer. While the content was being discussed, Zurich street artist Rhytm translated the topics live into a visual performance and made abstract concepts directly tangible. A DJ set accompanied the evening and created space for exchange, discussions and new connections.

A platform with a social impact
According to the organizers, the response to the evening shows that there is a growing need for formats that make scientific findings accessible and place them in a social context. POP Impact Lab is intended to serve precisely this interface: «Knowledge only has real value if it is understood and shared.»
The evening marks the start of a series of events. Further editions of POP Impact Lab are already being planned and will continue to operate at the interface of science, technology and society, the press release explains.
POP Impact Lab was founded by Jessy Simon, Maria Dimitriu, and Alessandra Stürchler.
