SRG launches interregional radio project
With a new interregional radio project, SRG is embarking on a thematic journey through Switzerland. Over the course of four special days, all language regions will jointly explore the annual theme «Transitions» from various perspectives. Ticino will kick off the series on March 25, 2026.

With "The Others. Les Autres. Gli Altri. Ils Auters - Le tour de Suisse", SRG is launching a thematic radio journey through Switzerland. On four special days, all SRG language regions will jointly examine the annual theme of "Transitions" from different perspectives. Each language region will take on the role of host and present live broadcasts on location, reports from the other language regions and a concluding four-language evening program.
"The others. Les Autres, Gli Altri. Ils Auters - Le tour de Suisse" attempts to answer the fundamental question: What divides us and what unites us in Switzerland? With authentic stories and discussions, SRG invites the radio audience to discover the richness of multilingual and culturally diverse Switzerland - on four stages and in four languages.
Live broadcasts on all radio channels
Live broadcasts throughout the day on the first radio channels of SRF, RTS, RSI and RTR allow listeners to immerse themselves in a language region and the topic of the day. In addition, reporters bring along suitable contributions from their home region, creating a multi-layered, national overall picture. The crowning finale is a four-language evening show from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., which is broadcast on all four channels. It makes the cultural and linguistic diversity of Switzerland audible and tangible.
Four special days on four topics
"The others. Les Autres. Gli Altri. The Others - Le tour de Suisse" is divided into four special days, each dedicated to a language region and a daily theme: On March 25, 2026, the focus will be on Ticino with the theme "On the border" with Italy, between culture, economy and everyday life of cross-border commuters. On May 27, 2026, Rumantschia will follow with "On bridges", highlighting the crossings that connect Alpine communities. On September 18, 2026, French-speaking Switzerland will dedicate itself to the topic of "On the water" - along historical waterways and scientific challenges. How climate change affects water and our lives by the water. German-speaking Switzerland will conclude on November 18, 2026 with the theme "In the agglomeration": the conurbation as a place of encounter and exchange between urban and rural areas.
Start in Ticino on March 25
The first special day will focus on Ticino and its geographical and cultural proximity to Italy. Throughout the day, content will be broadcast on the first SRG radio stations in the four language regions. In addition, Radio SRF 1, Rete Uno, RTS Première (from 10.00 to 11.00) and RTR (from 11.00 to 12.00) will each broadcast one hour live from the border in Brusata (CH) / Bizzarone (IT).
The audience gets to know life and everyday life at customs, can look over the shoulders of customs employees at work and learn more about cultural borders from local residents. In addition, the everyday working lives of frontaliers and border crossers are highlighted. In the evening, the four reporters from the language regions will meet in the RSI studio in Comano to review the highlights of the day in a national and quadrilingual radio program. This program will be broadcast live from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on all four stations - a first for SRG.
