Eastern Switzerland Children's Hospital: Vitamin 2 develops rebranding
In the fall of 2026, the Eastern Switzerland Children’s Hospital will move into its new building. This state-of-the-art infrastructure marks the beginning of a new era, which is also reflected in Vitamin 2’s fluid rebranding. At its heart is a playful logo based on the tangram principle.

The new building will enable the Eastern Switzerland Children's Hospital (OKS) to offer new specialist areas, optimize processes and improve comfort for patients and their relatives.
In addition, a logo study showed that the 30-year-old design no longer met today's requirements for digitality and accessibility. Vitamin 2 won the tender for the rebranding with its design idea based on the tangram principle.
Serge Altmann, CEO, comments on the branding process: "Together with Vitamin 2, we were able to try something new. Lively discussions and presentations resulted in a completely new branding that suits us perfectly: It combines cutting-edge medicine and humanity, can be used flexibly and perfectly reflects the age range of our patients from 0-18."
Branding according to the tangram principle
The centerpiece is the new logo, which playfully forms an "O" for Eastern Switzerland from seven tangram elements. Animated by this, new shapes and motifs are constantly being created that run as a common thread through the new OKS world.
The Tangram elements not only characterize the logo and communication measures. Design elements are also planned for the interior of the new building, for example on the walls or on the bed linen. "The colorful, playful appearance of the new premises also creates an optimistic atmosphere that conveys confidence and joie de vivre," explains Jan Hasler, partner and management member at Vitamin 2.
The modular appearance is consistently optimized for digital use. Another key criterion was accessibility, which is also reflected in the new typography. Vitamin 2 also developed a new visual world for the interactive website that focuses on human closeness and security.
Implementation will start in March 2026 and will be completed when the new building is occupied in September 2026. A comprehensive renewal of printed materials will be deliberately avoided. Most of the literature will be replaced digitally, as Vitamin 2 explains.
