TeleZüri launches new talk format "GenZüri"

On March 16, the new talk show «GenZüri» premieres on TeleZüri. Hosted by Vanessa Meier and Shanice Bösiger-Baumann, the show gives young people a platform to speak openly about their worldview, formative experiences, and personal crises.

What really matters to young people? With "GenZüri", TeleZüri brings new voices to the program: young people tell their stories - authentically, with depth, without taboos. The talk show combines personal experiences with social issues and gives a stage to a generation that often discusses its topics on social media first. The first show will be broadcast on March 16, then every Monday at 7.30 pm on TeleZüri.

Focus on personal stories

Each show features three guests in the studio. The focus is on one person in particular. Vanessa Meier (32) and Shanice Bösiger-Baumann (28) host the interviews. The presenter and video journalist Vanessa Meier is one of the familiar faces of TeleZüri and has been in front of the camera regularly for years. With journalistic curiosity and a direct, approachable style, she focuses on people and their stories.

Co-host Shanice Bösiger-Baumann brings a wealth of journalistic experience to the format. She works as a producer at TeleZüri and is co-responsible for the talk formats "TalkTäglich" and "SonnTalk", among others. In her work, she is particularly interested in political debates, social issues and the question of how journalism is changing in the digital age.

For Vanessa Meier, one thing is clear: "The new generation talks unfiltered about topics that used to be taboo. Our guests want to show others that they are not alone in their fate. It is precisely these stories that we want to give a stage at 'GenZüri'."

Shanice Bösiger-Baumann adds: "Many young people have a lot to say - but rarely have a platform to do so. GenZüri is about listening, making different perspectives visible and having real conversations."

From stalking to addiction

In the first show, these guests tell their stories: Artan (23), content creator from Zurich with Albanian roots. In his stage programs and social media clips, he combines humor with personal experiences and talks openly about his burnout. Ramona Brüniger (26) from the canton of Graubünden is exposed to sexist comments and harassment on social media as a woman, which has even led to cases of stalking. She talks about her fear and how she deals with it. Noah Di Bettschen (24), an artist from Zurich, has already exhibited his work internationally. He deals with trauma in his art - including the early death of his addicted father and his own history of alcohol abuse.

The format comprises twelve episodes, which are broadcast weekly. Each episode lasts 22 minutes. "GenZüri" is accompanied by content on Instagram and TikTok (@genzueri). All episodes can also be viewed on YouTube.

TeleZüri is close to its viewers: up-to-date, informative and entertaining. The station reports on topics from the greater Zurich area and the surrounding cantons, with national or international topics also taking center stage when important events occur. With its news, talk and entertainment programs, TeleZüri is the clear number 1 among Swiss regional television stations thanks to its high level of credibility and acceptance among the population.
