Esslinger AG, a traditional construction company in the canton of Zurich, celebrated its 70th anniversary in December. Founded in 1955, the family business with over 80 employees specializes in civil engineering and renovations - from trenchless pipeline construction work and sewer systems to renovations and refurbishments.

For the anniversary celebrations in St. Moritz, Esslinger AG commissioned the Schläfle Trittibach agency to redesign the company chronicle. Those responsible deliberately dispensed with a classic, text-heavy chronicle. Instead, the focus is on experience: the company history was brought to life with the help of artificial intelligence.

Newsreel style with a wink

The result is six films in the style of news reports. With a twinkle in the eye, they take us through seven decades of company history and bring the tradition, character and change of Esslinger to life. From recruitment in the trenches to the biggest traffic jam on Swiss roads, the company chronicle has been presented in an amusing and imaginative way.

The six episodes have titles such as "The golden hammer", "Recruited in the trenches", "Wedding with consequences", "Unterengstringen meets Mumbai", "The day Switzerland stood still" and "From Brüttisellen to the moon". Each article tells the story of a significant period in the company's history.

As a further advertising measure, the contributions are presented to a wider audience on Esslinger's social media platforms. The unconventional approach shows how corporate history can be communicated in a contemporary and entertaining way.
