In the annual rating of the environmental organization CDP on the transparency and quality of climate protection reporting, APG|SGA achieves the highest score of A in 2025. The Swiss company is therefore one of only 4 percent of 22,100 rated companies that appear on the "A List". These 877 companies are characterized by corporate transparency and their pioneering role in the fight against climate change.

CDP evaluates companies using a detailed and independent methodology. The rating, which ranges from A to D-, is based on the disclosure, understanding and management of environmental risks and the handling of climate targets. Despite constantly increasing requirements, APG|SGA was able to exceed its high level of previous years and achieve the highest grade of A again for the first time since 2020. The increase can be attributed, among other things, to the climate targets and the clearly defined reduction pathway as well as an increased focus in the supply chain.

Roadmap until 2045

The top rating reflects the targeted implementation of APG|SGA's corporate social responsibility strategy. The reduction of the Group's CO2 emissions plays a key role in this. The company has committed itself to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045. Behind this is a roadmap based on science-based climate targets, which sets short and long-term absolute targets for reducing emissions at company level.

By 2030, absolute greenhouse gas emissions are to be reduced by 85% in Scope 1 and 2 and by 45% in Scope 3, starting from the base year 2023. A reduction of 95% in Scope 1 and 2 is planned by 2035. Scope 3 emissions are to be reduced by 90 percent by 2045. The ambitious climate targets were reviewed and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) at the end of 2024, which contributed to a high score in the CDP rating.

Markus Ehrle, CEO of APG|SGA, says: "We are delighted that we can make one aspect of our long-standing sustainability efforts visible through the outstanding CDP score. Inclusion in the 'A-List' is a special distinction that proves that we inform our stakeholders transparently and that APG|SGA operates sustainably."

Concrete measures for climate protection

APG|SGA uses 100 percent "naturemade star" green electricity from Swiss hydropower or solar power from its own PV systems at the Lausanne, Wallisellen and Zurich sites throughout Switzerland. Since 2025, 100% electricity from renewable sources has also been purchased in Serbia. The fleet, consisting of passenger cars and small commercial vehicles, is continuously being converted to electric drives. Conversions to more energy-efficient technologies such as LEDs are leading to constant improvements in the product portfolio. Emissions reductions in the supply chain are implemented in constant dialog with suppliers.

Gold standard for environmental performance

Using a comprehensive questionnaire, the CDP assesses annually whether companies are making an effective contribution to limiting the global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels. The disclosure and assessment process of the non-profit organization CDP is recognized as the "gold standard" for transparency in environmental performance and corporate responsibility.

CDP uses a detailed and independent methodology to assess participating companies and rates them on a scale from A (best result) to D-. It takes into account criteria such as completeness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks, and the exercise of best practice in environmental leadership, accompanied by the setting of ambitious, meaningful and fact-based targets. The scale of the CDP questionnaire is refined and increased each year to ensure that even well-rated companies must ensure continuous improvement.
