Schroten portrays "exciting lives" for Swiss Life

The Zurich-based storytelling agency Schroten is continuing its content series for Swiss Life’s Life Stories blog. The series focuses on three profiles of people who live financially independent lives in different ways: a theater director, a retired journalist, and a mixologist.

Ramona Fattini has put all her eggs in the acting basket. The 36-year-old has been running the Zurich Fairytale Stage for just over a year, performing on stage herself while also being responsible for the entire operation. She is passionate about fairy tales - and their biggest fan base: "Children are the most honest audience," she says. Her big topic: how she can build up a financial cushion as an artist in order to live a self-determined life in the long term.

Self-determination is also at the heart of the two other protagonists. Ruedi Baumann, a journalist at the Tages-Anzeiger newspaper for over 40 years, is enjoying an active retirement at 73. He spends several months a year sailing the world's oceans, as well as e-biking and skiing. And he is committed to helping others: On behalf of Pro Senectute Zurich, he regularly provides meals for people who are no longer as mobile as he is.

From mixologist to active pensioner

Alexandre Besnault is only at the beginning of his career - and yet he is already mixing with the best: the 24-year-old works as a mixologist at the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne. He is said to be a bit of a "Miraculix" there. "I feel more like a child," says Besnault. "I want to try out as many things as possible and see what comes out of it."
