The Prix Média 2025 goes to Katharina Bochsler, science editor at Radio SRF, for her contribution "Hot conflicts: the science of peace". Although highly relevant to society, peace research is rarely the subject of media coverage. With her radio feature, Katharina Bochsler succeeds in building a masterful bridge between the complex academic discourse and a tangible and understandable narrative. The jury particularly emphasized the author's reflective approach: Katharina Bochsler explicitly focuses on science and incorporates different social science perspectives. "Hot conflicts" shows impressively how powerful and relevant science journalism can be. The Prix Média is endowed with CHF 10,000.

The Prix MultiMédia 2025 will be awarded to Sebastian Broschinski (implementation, maps, visualizations) and Christof Gertsch and Mikael Krogerus (research). The awards for The magazine realized reportage "The exhausted sea" takes readers on a journey to researchers who use a wide variety of methods to explore, map and predict the state of the oceans. Research, text and visual design interlock perfectly in the online implementation and create an impressive overall picture. The result is a work that conveys scientific knowledge in a well-founded manner and at the same time makes it tangible in an innovative way through images, maps and visualizations. The Prix MultiMédia is also endowed with CHF 10,000.

Balz Oertli beat Simon Maurer in the public voting for the Prix Média Newcomer 2025. Both candidates had already received a grant from the Prix Média jury, which they used to realize challenging media contributions. In his research "In this country, money can do anything", Balz Oertli revealed how transparent political financing really is in Switzerland - and what we can learn from European standards. In his portrait series, Simon Maurer showed the future of mRNA technology and explained how Nobel Prize winner Katalin Karikó has shaped an entire generation of researchers. The Prix Média Newcomer is endowed with CHF 3,000.

With the Prix Média, the Prix MultiMédia and the Prix Média Newcomer, the Academies of Arts and Sciences honor excellent science journalism and thus pay tribute to the important role of journalists at the interface between science and society.
