Chopfab wins double medal at the European Beer Star 2025
The Chopfab Brewery in Winterthur won two awards at the European Beer Star 2025: silver for Chopfab Amber in the Red Ale category and bronze for Chopfab Elderflower Honey Ale in the Honey Beer category.

Chopfab is delighted: "Winning two medals at the European Beer Star is a great success and further confirmation of our proven quality philosophy," says Philip Bucher, Managing Director of Chopfab Boxer. The Swiss brewery received its awards for Chopfab Amber in the Red Ale category and Chopfab limited Elderflower Honey in the Honey Beer category at the awards ceremony on September 17 at the drinktec trade fair in Munich.

At the European Beer Star 2025, around 2,200 beers in 74 categories were judged by the jury, from classics such as Helles and Pils to specialties and, for the first time, mixed beer beverages. The competition is considered one of the most demanding in the world. An international jury of 150 master brewers, trade journalists, beer sommeliers and other experts examined all entries during a two-day blind tasting in Nuremberg at the beginning of August. Judging was based exclusively on sensory criteria - i.e. appearance, smell, taste and varietal typicity.
Chopfab is the most award-winning brewery and one of the leading craft breweries in Switzerland. Since 2012, Chopfab has been shaping the Swiss beer market with passion, creativity and the highest quality. The Winterthur brewery offers a variety of top- and bottom-fermented beers as well as seasonal and limited specialties.
