Marina Abramović features in the NZZ art supplement with an exclusive manifesto by a female artist

The *Neue Zürcher Zeitung* will be published on October 26 as an exclusive art edition—designed by performance art pioneer Marina Abramović. To accompany her first major retrospective at the Kunsthaus Zürich, Abramović shares her visions and a manifesto that brings together her artistic principles and her perspectives on pain and mental strength.

Marina Abramović is one of the most important personalities on the contemporary art scene. Known for her "Long-Durational Performances", in which she explores physical and mental limits, Abramović deals intensively with questions of coping with pain and psychological resilience. "Fear of pain can be overcome," she emphasizes in an interview with NZZ features editor Benedict Neff, inviting the audience to explore the limits of body and mind.

On October 26, the "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" will present her manifesto in a special edition designed by Abramović and an interview that sheds light on her sources of inspiration and artistic goals. The manifesto, inspired by historical avant-garde movements such as the Dadaists and Surrealists, reflects Abramović's desire to enrich the art world and her audience with new impulses.

For the exhibition at Kunsthaus Zürich, Abramović created the limited photo edition "The Message", which was photographed by Michel Comte and will be available in the NZZ Shop from the day the art edition is published. This retrospective at the Kunsthaus, which runs from October 25, 2024 to February 16, 2025, shows a comprehensive cross-section of Abramović's work and presents selected live restagings of her performances for the first time in Switzerland.
