The Federal Office of Public Health has launched a campaign with hygiene and behavioral rules to prevent or slow down the spread of the new coronavirus.

As a first step, the campaign points out three important rules of hygiene and behavior. Hands must be washed thoroughly and regularly, coughing and sneezing should be done in the crook of your arm or in a handkerchief, and as soon as you have symptoms such as a fever or cough, you should stay at home.

As an immediate measure, flyers will be distributed at border crossings with Italy, major railroad stations and highway service stations. In addition, posters will inform border crossers and travelers about important rules of conduct.

In addition, advertisements with the three rules of conduct and hygiene will appear in various newspapers from Friday to inform the general public. Moving image advertising media on television and online as well as digital posters will follow at the beginning of next week. The website Bag-coronavirus.ch will also be launched shortly.

For companies and organizations, the advertising material is available online as a PDF and can be ordered. As the situation is constantly changing and the advertising materials are regularly updated, they are marked with a date.

If additional measures are necessary, the FOPH will use additional pictograms to communicate new hygiene and behavioral rules. The advertising material, which is currently still yellow, will then be published in red to highlight the novelty value of the information.

The campaign was created by Rod Kommunikation. The agency has implemented the campaign over the past two weeks. Jung von Matt/Limmat, Wirz and Saatchi&Saatchi were actually also invited to pitch, but the three agencies withdrew for capacity reasons, as Andrea Mussato from EDI explained when asked by Werbewoche.ch. Due to the urgency of the matter, the mandate was not put out to public tender. (pd/swi)
